Getting started

Introduction

Morbium is an AI desktop app for building hardware. Design boards, write firmware, model 3D enclosures, and source parts in one place.

Morbium Computer is an AI desktop app for building real hardware. You describe what you want to build in plain language, and Morbium's agents design the circuit board, write the firmware, model a 3D-printable enclosure, and help you source the parts, all inside one project.

Think of it as a workbench where the AI does the mechanical work and you stay in control. Every design is real code and real files on your machine that you can read, edit, and export.

What you can build

  • Circuit boards. Describe a board and Morbium designs it, checks it for errors, and shows you a live 2D and 3D view.
  • Firmware. Generate firmware that matches your board's pinout for common microcontrollers like ESP32, STM32, RP2040, and AVR.
  • 3D enclosures and parts. Model cases, brackets, and mounts that fit your board, then export them to STL for printing.
  • Bills of materials. Turn a board into a parts list, then price and check stock for your region.

How it works

  1. You describe the goal. For example, "design a small board for a 2 button macropad," or "write firmware to read a temperature sensor over I2C."
  2. An agent does the work. Morbium picks the right specialist (board designer, firmware, 3D, sourcing) and builds the design step by step, fixing its own mistakes as it goes.
  3. You review it in the workspace. The board, 3D model, parts list, and file changes each appear in their own tab as soon as the AI creates them.
  4. You iterate. Ask for changes in plain language. Everything regenerates in place.

Models

Morbium ships with a built-in model, Morbium Auto, so you can start immediately without any setup or API key. Your plan sets a daily budget. If you want unlimited usage or a specific model, you can connect your own provider (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, and more) with your own key, which stays on your machine. See Models and Bring your own key.
