Models & usage

Choosing a model

Morbium ships with the built-in Morbium Auto model so you can start with no setup, and lets you connect your own provider for other models.

Every message you send is handled by a model. Morbium gives you a built-in model that works out of the box, and lets you bring your own if you want a specific one.

Morbium Auto

Morbium Auto is the built-in model. It needs no setup and no API key: it is ready the moment you sign in. Your plan sets a daily budget, and Morbium manages the model and the cost for you behind the scenes.

Morbium Auto is the default, so if you never touch the model selector, this is what you get.

The model selector

The model selector sits next to the composer. It shows the active model and lets you switch. If you have connected your own provider, its models appear here too.

To control which models show up in the selector, open Manage models from the selector or from Settings. You can hide models you never use so the list stays short.

Picking a model per session

The model you pick applies to the current session. Different sessions can use different models, so you can keep a fast, cheap model for quick questions and a stronger one for hard design work.

Background work

Morbium uses a smaller, faster model for background chores like naming your sessions and summarizing long conversations. This happens automatically and does not affect the model you chose for your actual work, and it does not count against your daily budget. See Plans and usage.

Bring your own model

To use a specific model, or for unlimited usage on your own billing, connect your own provider with your own API key. See Bring your own key.
