Bill of materials and sourcing

Turn a board into a parts list, then price the parts and check stock for your region, from India to the US, Europe, and China.

A bill of materials, or BOM, is the list of every part on your board. Morbium builds it from the board itself, then helps you price the parts and check availability where you are.

Build the parts list

Ask Morbium to generate the BOM:

Generate a bill of materials for this board.

A BOM tab appears with a row for every component. The list is saved as a CSV in your project under .morbium/bom, so you can open it in a spreadsheet or hand it to a manufacturer. Each row includes the quantity, the designators, the part type and value, and the footprint, along with manufacturer and assembly part numbers where known.

When you change the board, regenerate the BOM and Morbium updates it in place, keeping any sourcing you have already added.

Source the parts

Pricing and stock depend on where you are buying, so sourcing is region aware. Use the Source button in the BOM tab, or ask:

Source these parts for India.

The sourcing specialist searches for each part, finds a vendor, and records the price, currency, stock, and a link. It knows the common suppliers per region, for example:

  • India: Robu, Robocraze, Sunrom.
  • United States and Europe: Digikey, Mouser.
  • China: LCSC, Taobao.

You can also source a single row from its chip in the BOM table, which prefills a focused request for just that part.

Use the list

The BOM is a normal CSV. Open it, share it, or upload it to a manufacturer or assembly house. Because it lives in your project folder, it is versioned alongside the board and the rest of your design.
