Configuration
Configure Morbium with a morbium.json file: set your model, agents, permissions, MCP servers, and more, globally or per project.
Morbium reads its settings from a morbium.json file. You can set one globally for all projects and one per project, and the two are merged.
Where it lives
- Project:
morbium.json(ormorbium.jsonc, or.morbium/morbium.json) in the project folder. - Global:
~/.config/morbium/morbium.json.
Project settings are deep-merged on top of global ones, so a project can override just the pieces it needs.
Config is validated strictly: an invalid file stops with an error rather than loading halfway. It is read once at startup, so after you edit it, restart Morbium for the changes to take effect.
Editor autocomplete
Add the $schema key to get autocomplete and validation in your editor:
{
"$schema": "https://morbium.co/config.json",
"model": "anthropic/claude-sonnet-4-5"
}
