Troubleshooting

Fixes for common Morbium issues: the app not opening, the engine not connecting, sign-in problems, updates, and exporting logs for support.

Most problems are quick to fix. Start here.

The app will not open

  • macOS: on first launch, right-click the app and choose Open if macOS blocks it, then confirm.
  • Windows: if SmartScreen warns, choose More info and Run anyway.
  • Make sure you downloaded the build for your operating system from the download page.

The engine is not connecting

Morbium runs a local engine behind the app. If a session will not start or hangs on connect:

  1. Quit Morbium fully and reopen it.
  2. Check that nothing on your network is blocking local connections.
  3. If it persists, reset the desktop app storage (below) and sign in again.

Reset desktop storage

If the app gets into a bad state, resetting its local storage clears cached state without touching your projects, which live in your own folders. Do this from the app's settings or by quitting and relaunching. Your projects and files are safe.

Sign-in problems

  • Make sure you are online for the first sign-in.
  • If sign-in loops or fails, quit and reopen, then try again.
  • Your plan and access are tied to your account, so sign in with the same account you subscribed with. See Plans and usage.

Updates

Morbium updates itself. If an update does not appear:

  • Check Settings under Updates and trigger a check.
  • Make sure updates are not set to off.
  • An update installs the next time you quit the app.

A model or provider is not working

  • For the built-in model, check your daily budget in the Usage tab; you may have reached today's limit.
  • For your own provider, confirm the API key is correct in Settings under Providers. See Bring your own key.

Export logs for support

If you need help, export the app logs from the app and include them with your report. They help us see what went wrong without needing access to your machine.
